XA Christian Fellowship is a campus Christian group at The University of Montana. Our gatherings include worship, Bible studies, retreats, and missions trips. More importantly, we are a community. We love to hang out, road trip, and take crazy adventures together. We hope you’ll come and get to know us!
We are part of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries (XA for short). Chi Alpha has over 300 Chi Alpha campus groups in the U.S. and around the world. To know more about national XA, visit chialpha.com.
Scott Barnett || Director
Scott grew up all over Montana and is an avid lover of the outdoors. He graduated from The University of Montana with a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. God radically changed his life in December of 1997, and he started into full-time ministry in the year 2000. He helped start a church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (cheese and packer country) and taught sixth grade at a Christian school there as well. He joined staff with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries a year later and became Director of the University of Montana Chi Alpha in 2002. He feels that university ministry is the most pivotal place in the United States for spreading the good news about Jesus’ life and love.
Scott met his wife Anna Dulba in Poland while on a missions trip to Central Europe. They started their amazing marriage journey together in December of 2007. Other than blabbering about Jesus, Scott’s interests include: snowboarding in Montana’s majestic mountains (Lost Trail and Snowbowl are the regular places to go), hiding out in coffee shops reading (usually history type books), and writing and playing music (he’s genetically a drummer, but plays guitar and bass when no one is looking).
Dylan Morss || Associate Staff
Dylan grew up all over the Northwest, eventually landing in Libby, Montana. In Dylan’s freshman year of high school, he had an encounter with God which changed his life and gave him direction and purpose. Around that time, he also found his passion for music, and he still plays music every chance he gets: leading worship, playing at open mics, and writing songs. Dylan graduated from Northwest University, a Bible school in Kirkland, Washington, with a degree in International studies/World missions. In the summer of 2004, Dylan was reintroduced to his friend Laura, who in October of 2006 became his wife Laura. In 2014 their family grew with the birth of their first son Logan Robert Alexander Morss.
Dylan and Laura began helping out with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries shortly after they moved to Missoula in 2008. Dylan began his official role as Associate Staff with Chi Alpha in the 2012 Spring Semester. Dylan’s passions include leading worship and spending time with international students. Dylan’s hobbies include writing, recording songs, collecting swords, playing ultimate frisbee and video games, and having random adventures doing random things.
Bret Haidle || Associate Staff
Bret grew up in Ontario, Oregon. His life was powerfully impacted in 2008 while studying at Idaho State University and being involved in Chi Alpha student leadership. There Jesus transformed his identity and shaped him into a joyful man of God. He earned an Associate’s degree in Electronic Systems Technology and met his wife, Missy, through Chi Alpha. Bret and Missy married in July 2010 and began their life adventure together. Bret worked briefly as an electronics technician in Logan, Utah before returning to Idaho State to complete a Chi Alpha internship in 2013 and serve on Associate Staff for two years. God led him and Missy to move to Missoula in August 2015 and Bret joined Associate Staff at University of Montana January 2016.
Bret’s passions include exploring the mountains, playing and moving to the music, being a big brother to students, adventuring with friends, and board riding of any persuasion.
